2024 WYBC BASEBALL SPRING

PLEASE READ!

We are all acutely aware of changing economic conditions and risings costs over the past several years. Our WYBC Baseball program is no exception and has encountered increased costs in umpire fees, baseballs, insurance, equipment, and facility maintenance. For the past four years we have held registration prices steady and instead organized community fundraisers. Unfortunately, the participation tends to be unpredictable depending on the fundraiser itself and therefore the results inconsistent with the organization's financial requirements.

After careful consideration we have decided to integrate a fundraiser into registration as opposed to outright raising registration costs. We have researched several options, and we feel that "BASEBALL MANIA" offers a great solution. Each player registration will include (2) tickets, each worth $20. You can keep the tickets for chances to win cash payouts OR sell them to family and friends and recoup your $40 fundraiser. You can also sell additional tickets to further fundraise and win additional WYBC Baseball prizes.

2024 WYBC SPRING BASEBALL REGISTRATION

We will be accepting registrations for any player ages 5-18. Please note that the player’s playing age is determined by the player’s age prior to May 1st, 2024.

We will have the players divided into the following ages brackets.

13-18 (York County 14U-16U/Jr Legion/Sr Legion) (7th-12th grades)

*If you are in 7th grade but still qualify for 12U please register for 13-18.

12 and Under

10 and Under

1st year 8 year old's – Age 5

*returning 8 year old's should register for 10U

Evaluation Information below:

Please review the following information regarding EVALUATIONS

The Evaluations’ will take place at the Trimmer Field #1 for 12U, Broad Street Lower Field for 10U and Broad Street Upper Field for Ages 13-18.

*** In the case of any Inclement Weather we will hold the evaluations indoors at the WYBC Baseball Building at Broad Street.***

The Evaluations will allow us to construct the teams and determine which divisions within their age bracket would be the best fit.

Age participation for EVALUATIONS will be for everyone ages 8 thru 16, including 1st year 8 year old's. (Select 7 year old’s may be asked to evaluate based on previous experience)

*If your child is a 1st year 8 year old please sign-up for 8U, if your child is 8 years old and has previously played in the program please sign them up for 10U. During Evaluations we will determine which league is best suited for their ability.

The Evaluation time slots are as follows:

14U

Saturday March 2nd 3pm-5pm (Broad St Field-Upper)

12U

Sunday March 3rd 1pm-3:30pm (Trimmer Field #1) *location subject to change*

10U (including 1st year 8yr old’s and select 7yr old’s)

Saturday March 2nd 11:30am-2pm (Broad St Field-Lower)

***Your child’s exact time slot will be determined after sign-ups are complete. I will email out an update prior to evaluations.

OUTDOOR: Players are asked to dress in standard baseball apparel; spikes, baseball pants, etc... Please make sure that they bring any necessary equipment just as they would for practice. We will be evaluating the players in the following areas: hitting, fielding, throwing, speed/agility and pitching if they desire. If your child will be trying out as a catcher, please make sure they are properly equipped.

It is our goal that by March 11th, 2024, everyone will be notified as to which team they will be on for the Spring 2024 season.

****With registration WYBC Baseball will provide each player with a hat and custom sublimated jersey for ALL ages. Also regardless of team each player will be asked to wear navy baseball socks, belt and all-grey baseball pants.
